Dragonflight was first published in Analog science fiction magazine. The first segment, "Weyr Search", was the cover story for the October 1967 issue, illustrated by John Schoenherr.[1] The second segment, "Dragonrider", was a two-part serial starting in December '67.[2] The combined story was published by Corgi and Ballantine Books in 1968.[3]
