Annihilators sees some long-awaited but much appreciated improvements in its third issue. Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning make better use of their cast as the true nature of the threat facing these cosmic heroes is revealed. While we don't quite yet get the epic battle scenes these warriors deserve, all signs point to issue #4 finally delivering the goods. The writers also de-emphasize the narration in this issue, which means that Quasar's inexplicably whiny monologues are quieted. The changes here are subtle but palpable. And with an excellent twist ending, I have high hopes that the series can at least end on a high note.
