In order to coincide with the release of the Captain America: the First Avenger (2011) film, Captain America was relaunched with a new #1 by Ed Brubaker, writer of the previous volume of Captain America, and artist Steve McNiven. It also launched alongside of Captain America and Bucky, which carried on the numbering of the previous Captain America series.
