If you're a fan of The Doctor that's finding a weekly episode and nearly 50 years of history insufficient, then A Fairytale Life should be right up your alley. However, if you're coping, you'll be able to pass on issue #2 without breaking a sweat. If you do give it a shot, what you'll find is half good and half bad, but very much in keeping to the tropes of the show. Matt Sturges has got the voice of The Doctor down pat, and issue #2 again showcases his ability to get Matt Smith inside of our heads. The latest issue of this mini-series presents the next logical step that any Who fan will notice; the abduction of the companion, the ally from the time period, and the separate paths they all take to resolve the problem.
