At this point, every minor paradigm shift for the X-Men leads to an anthology mini-series. With Second Coming ending and finally allowing the team to bask in the glow of Heroic Age, the latest in these anthology projects has hit. But in this case, the format is far different. In this one-shot, Matt Fraction weaves one tale that focuses on three specific groups of characters. It's a chance for the X-men to interact with other Marvel heroes, with varying degrees of success. My favorite segment involved Cyclops hanging out with Steve Rogers in the Savage Land. It's interesting to see Cyke fall into a wide-eyed schoolboy role as he confronts the one hero in the Marvel Universe more born to lead and inspire than he.
