Part of the reason why issue #3 is a slight disappointment is because of Nick Pitarra's artwork, which has seen an unfortunate dip in quality here. One of Pitarra's biggest strengths is his ability to capture infinitesimal detail in his panels. But with issue #3 of The Red Wing, pages are less defined and more sketchy, for lack of a better term. This makes the impact of certain moments fall flat, as your left trying to figure out what you're looking at instead of being awestruck by the scope of the situation.
