In December of 1954, Katrina Kristin was part of a United Nations expedition to the Himalayas. Seperated from the others by the collapse of an ice bridge, she was saved by an Abominable Snowman with whom she subsequently had an affair. She died nine months later giving birth to her son, Klaus. Raised by Katrina's sister, Klaus discovered he had the ability to become an icy figure called The Snowman who "radiates cold," causing any nearby person or object to become frozen solid. Preferring to exist in cold climates, Klaus must travel eight months out of the year. Because he has no real wealth of his own, Snowman must use his powers to acquire it by robbing. The Snowman is eventually reunited with his Yeti father.
