A lot of credit for the success of this issue falls on writer Jeff Parker. Since Warren Ellis left Thunderbolts back in 2008, we've had a couple of less than thrilling T-bolts teams written without the sinister wit that the team deserves. But in issue #144, Jeff Parker brought the team back to the status that it once held, with a unique new team that displayed a less menacing attitude than most all that came before it, while retaining the unpredictable nature that goes with pairing super villains together. The newest Thunderbolts have now had multiple missions together, and have worked themselves into quite a team. That is why I am so interested to see where Parker takes this Underbolts initiative, and see how he has Fixer's inferiority strike out against Luke Cage and his A-team.
