It may have seemed strange that Marvel launched the newest volume of Alpha Flight with a .1 issue rather than just beginning with issue #1, but as it turns out, that .1 issue provided the graceful introduction to the series the actual issue #1 doesn't quite manage. Greg Pak and Fred Van Lente's newest collaboration shows plenty of promise. Unfortunately, issue #1 is a bit too crowded and chaotic for its own good.
