I think it's safe to say we all breathed a sigh of relief when it was announced that this series would be handled by Batman mastermind Paul Dini. After all, the man is responsible for some of the best Batman fiction of all time -- whether in comics, on television, or in gaming (this is the real shocker). However, this is a doubled-edged sword, as now the Batman: Arkham City mini-series has to live up to the gigantic expectations of not only the Arkham Asylum fans, but also the Dini faithful. Thankfully, Dini provides an entertaining first issue that works as both a continuation of the Arkham Asylum narrative as well as a standalone tale for those who missed the boat with the video game.
