\"By Way of Deception: The Making and Unmaking of a Mossad Officer\" is a book written by Victor Ostrovsky who was former katsa (case officer) for the Israeli Mossad (foreign intelligence service). Right before publication, the Israeli government filed lawsuits in both Canada and the United States to ban the publication. A judge in New York granted the request, but only to be overturned by the New York Supreme Court. The resulting publicity guaranteed the success of the book.
