The City of Ember is a 2003 post-apocalyptic book by Jeanne DuPrau. It revolves around the underground city of Ember, the one known surviving settlement and \"the only light in the dark world\" that\'s slowly dying as supplies run low and the electrical system starts to fail.
The main character is Lina Mayfleet, who, along with her friend, Doon Harrow, watch as the light of Ember flickers and work together to discover a way out.

The Prophet of Yonwood is a 2006 apocalyptic novel by Jeanne DuPrau. It is the third novel in the series The Books of Ember. However, it is a prequel, rather than a sequel, to the other three books of the series. It is set about fifty years before the Disaster and the establishment of Ember, and approximately three hundred years before the events of The City of Ember, The People of Sparks and The Diamond of Darkhold.
The Diamond of Darkhold
The Diamond of Darkhold is a Book of Ember novel written by Jeanne Duprau. The novel was released August 26, 2008.[1] The fourth book picks up where The People of Sparks left off, during the Emberites\' first winter above ground.[2] Lina and Doon find a mysterious book that alludes to a mysterious device that was left outside Ember.[3] It is the final Book of Ember. An advance copy was given out to attendees of the San Diego Comic-Con 2008 who visited the Random House booth.
