Christos Gage and Mike Mayhew continue their look at Speedball trapped in fear-crazed Stamford. Gage continues to do strong work with Robbie's character, forcing him to atone for his misdeeds in a more in-depth fashion than previous stories have allowed. Also appreciated is Gage's handling of Miriam Sharpe, who displays far more depth than she ever did during her brief scenes in Civil War. Unfortunately, the art is a continued sore point. Mike Mayhew's photo-referenced figures are awkward and stilted. The emphasis on realism only leads to a pronounced Uncanny Valley effect.
