As strongly as Fantastic Four ended with issue #587, Jonathan Hickman's FF has begun in the odd position of having to rebuild lost momentum. Despite having a very large cast already assembled, it seems there are still characters to draw in and lists to check off before the meat of the conflict can begin. And so readers are treated to a sophomore issue that, while very entertaining, is also a bit slow and uneventful compared to much of Hickman's run.
