Georgian Saga, Vol # 8: Indiscretions of the Queen
Poor Queen Caroline! Her only crime was her generous eccentricity, not very fitting for a princess, and later a queen. She grew up in Brunswick with more freedom and love than usually received by one of her station. She had more than her share of scandals and practical jokes, but she still was offered the hand of the Prince of Wales. The marriage was ill fated, as she was the opposite of what George admired in women. He proceeded to humiliate her at every possible occasion, and only stayed with her long enough to get an heir. After his daughter, Charlotte, was born, he continued to make her life unlivable, perhaps encouraging her eccentric behavior. Her generous nature and tragic life won her the love of the people, causing more hatred from the Prince. He tried everything in his power to be rid of her, even trying to try her for adultery, and making his marriage dissolved. If you thought that was scandalous enough, wait until George became King, and Caroline demanded her rights!
Plantagenet Saga, Vol # 8: The Follies of the King
Edward the Second's first act on coming to the throne is to recall Piers Gaveston from exile, and the new king's devotion to the shrewd and avaricious young man soon becomes a scandal. It is assumed that when Edward marries one of the most beautiful princesses in Europe his inclinations will change, but nothing can make him swerve from his attachment to Gaveston, who is clearly making the most of royal favour. The new Queen Isabella, accustomed to adulation, is bitterly humilated; and she is not a woman to forget or forgive. With the country in turmoil the king is making enemies throughout the land, and he fails to see that the most deadly of these is his queen.
Medici Trilogy: Vol # 1: Madame Serpent
Sullen-eyed and broken-hearted, fourteen-year-old Catherine de' Medici arrives in Marseilles to marry Henry of Orleans, second son of the King of France. On the promise of a dowry fit for a king, Catherine has left her true love in Italy, forced into trading her future for a stake in the French crown.
Amid the glittering f锚tes and banquets of the most immoral court in sixteenth-century Europe, the reluctant bride becomes a passionate but unwanted wife. Humiliated and unloved, Catherine spies on Henry and his lover, the infamous Diane de Poitiers. And, tortured by what she sees, Catherine becomes dangerously occupied by a ruthless ambition destined to make her the most despised woman in France: the dream that one day the French crown will be worn be a Medici heir...
