On a tropical island in the Atlantic Ocean in the mid-seventeenth century, a village awakens in terror, invaded by a band of conquistadors. When it's over, there will be no survivors among the inhabitants. Men, women, children, have all been killed and burned. Why? There seems to be no motive. There's no raping, pillaging or theft of any kind. Hutatsu and Dathcino, two native Indians who are neighbors to the village happen upon the scene. They don't ask questions about the motives, rather they look on it as a godsend and opportunity for eat and drink their fill, while appropriating items the dead left behind...until they are discovered.
