On Jan. 24th 2009 another driver plowed into my car. I believe this was the traumatic event that caused my MS to surface. Although it may have been lying dormant long before this time no symptoms had been apparent until just after my car accident. Over the next six months I began experiencing severe numbness and excrutiating pain in various parts of my body, debilitating fatigue, balance difficulties, depression, cognitive issues, short-term memory loss, unstable mood, sudden hearing loss, optic neuritis, paresthesia, trigeminal neuralgia, chest hug and dysarthria. Some of these symptoms have ceased while others remain or come and go. Demyelination was first discovered through a Spinal MRI just after my accident. I was then forwarded to a Neurologist who performed a Brain MRI and discovered that several lesions were present. I was diagnosed July 30th 2009 with Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (RRMS). I started off by taking SC Injections three times a week to slow the progression of the disease, as there currently is no cure. This however did not work. I am currently taking a SC Injection daily, MS is truly a day to day struggle and to ignore an illness is not healthy, particularly if it's chronic.
