Picking up from issue #5.1, Magneto is now aware of X-Force's existence and chooses to blackmail them into dispatching an old enemy of his. Wolverine takes one for the team in this case. In many ways this issue reminds me of Brian Michael Bendis' Ultimate X-Men #41. The focus on Wolverine, the long periods of silence, and the slow, inevitable build toward tragedy all hearken back to that excellent story. Remender is able to say a great deal about Wolverine without actually having to write much. A simple glance at a photo of his girlfriend Melita tells the reader everything they need to know about Wolverine's mental state.
