Uncanny X-Men #530 is going to require a period of adjustment from readers, particularly those that didn't pick up the first issue of Kieron Gillen's Generation Hope. Instead of wrapping up the main beats of "The Five Lights", issue #530 starts right in with the first chapter of "Quarantine". But despite the unshakable notion that some vital piece of story material got lost in the shuffle, "Quarantine" does help to put Uncanny back on better footing. The series feels more focused and purposeful now that the majority of the plot threads all stem from the appearance of a mysterious virus on Utopia.
