Mir Publishers, Moscow was a prolific publisher of books during the old days of the Soviet Union.
Their English translations were available freely at subsudized rates.
But all this ceased when USSR disintegrated!
I had the good fortune to lay my hands on 8 nice books from the series "Science for Everyone" published in the 80s.
In this torrent, I am sharing with you 4 of them which I have scanned.All books have OCR, bookmarks & covers.

1.Greatest Speed by S.R.Filonovich

His hook Do You Say Mathematics? has passed through two editions in Russian and has been translated into English. His new book Yes, No or Maybe is a readable introduc-tion to the frontiers of statistics and experiment de-sign. The book is written in a lovely language and contains many practical examples.
