In this issue, Hulk / Bruce Banner (he never "Hulks out" in the issue) is a former samurai turned monk who is called upon to come down off his mountain meditations to defend the town below from raiding bandits.
Hulk/Banner initially refuses, but finally agrees after a visit from a strange wandering man who also appeared in the first issue (Wolverine) and is most likely Deadpool.
While Hulk/Banner does finally come down from his mountain and wage battle against the raiding party, and he DOES give in to rage and become observed as something of a monster, he never turns green or typically Hulk-like. Hulk/Banner saves the day and leaves the village, looking for a new temple where he can resume his meditations, reflecting on the inarguable place of violence in the world.
